What's New?! - As of 1/26/02
Well I've got some news for you. We've got our own web site!! Pretty exciting I know! You're probably asking yourself why would the Boyd's need a web site? Well to be honest the answer is more like why not?! The software came with our computer, it was free to post a site, it's so easy, we thought Why not! Plus with family & friends growing up and moving away it's an easy way to stay in touch.
So Here's the news
1/26/02... SO schools back in session, happy day! Yes, there is definite sarcasm there! We've had a great holiday and really enjoyed our time off. We spent Christmas in Virginia with Kim's family, which was really nice. We were able to sit around with the family and play games, read, and just enjoy the company, which is what a vacation should be right?! We also spent a lot of time reading and became addicted to "Harry Potter", they are really good books, we don't care what anyone else says!... On our way home we volunteered to have our seats bumped. Let me just say I highly recommend doing this if you can. They put us up in a hotel for the night gave us free dinner and breakfast the next day, flew us home that morning first class, and gave us two First Class round trip ticket vouchers to use anywhere in the Continental US or Canada in the next year! What a sweet deal!... Kim is busy with work and Harrison is busy with school and work, it's crunch time around baseball this time of year... Harrison found out he has extremely high cholesterol so we have to eat even more carefully than we already do! It actually could be a blessing in disguise... Dawn's had her second baby this time a boy. Michael Holcomb Jr. was born mid December and is doing quite well. Sarah is due any minute now, so we'll keep you posted...
I think that about sums up the news for now. We'll add more as we go along.
Bye...
12/8/01... OK so finals week is almost here and it's killin' me this time around! So what's new? OH! Kim and I got our first car! We are very excited. We bought a 2001 VW Golf, it's black w/ 4 doors, very sleek! We decided we better have at least one car that we can rely on. We studied it out and think we made a good decision. We'll post a shot of it soon enough... We're getting ready for the holidays, which is always fun. We'll be flying east for the winter to visit Kim's fam in Virginia Beach which we are looking forward to... Life right now is really good and we have no major complaints!...
10/3/01... Well here we are in the October and the season's still going on!! Hey who would've thought the Padres would be playing a little October ball? We really can't wait for the season to be over. It'll be nice to see each other every night!... Things are going well here for us Kim is back in school taking a Human Resources class to help her with her new position... We have new callings in our ward, we are now sharing duties in the nursery. This on top of our callings in YW and Ward Mission Leader, we'll let you guess who does what... We've seen a few good concerts this summer, from Brian Setzer to Depeche Mode to Billy Idol, I guess it was an '80's themed summer. Let us just say the may be old but they all still rock!!
8/29/01... Well Kim is in Virginia Beach, VA visiting her family, this will be the longest we've been apart... We've got a new Photo Album up , I hope you already knew that... Sarah got married Saturday to Aaron Banks. They are really good for each other... Harrison starts back to school next week, this time at SDSU. Here's hoping to being out in two years... The season is almost over!!!
7/29/01... Well we're no longer Newlyweds! Kim & I celebrated our 1st anniversary yesterday, boy how time flies when you're having fun! We spent the day playing around Sea World in the beautiful San Diegan weather, although we're a little red now such is life! We ate our wedding cake that's been sitting in our freezer for a year. It was surprisingly good still, a little dry but not bad!... We saw Planet of the Apes Friday night. That's a pretty good flick. It's very intense! The make-up is absolutely incredible! I recommend it. It's based more on Pierre Boulle's Book than the original movie. There are a few references to the original like a great cameo by Kim's old buddy Chuck Heston, it's pretty funny...
7/14/01... Kim has a new position at the La Jolla Residence Inn. She is now heading up the Human Resources dept., which is right down her alley... Kim's family has moved to Virginia Beach and are missed. With southwest offering such good fares we thought we should take advantage and go visit them. We could only afford one ticket so we drew straws and it looks like Kim will be visiting them the end of august!... Harrison will be going to SDSU this fall to continue his quest for knowledge. Well he's actually just looking for someone to say he has attained enough knowledge to teach and grant him permission to do so... We went to the movies this week and saw "Laura Croft Tomb Raider". For those of you who have interest in seeing it , it is definitely PG-13. It is very unrealistic, fairly sensual, and there is some partial nudity ( By partial I mean they show lady croft getting out of the shower and from the back and her front 'peaks' through). Overall It is an OK movie, it is entertaining but nothing to write home to mom about...
